Demo Version 1.9.5 is released!


Hey there, pre-Dawn of the New Hour folks! Welcome...to the Gate:Way!

As you can see, we have a new name! New title! Ain't it grand? Brand new, shiny, and oh so profressional.

We've been pretty busy since we last talked, so let's see...what's new in dv1.9.5?
(Non-professional, but I'm typing this at 6:30 in the morning, I'll come back later tonight to rework this. This is going to look VERY messy until then, I apologize.)


New title screen!
New game icon!
New game title!
New cutscenes!
Some older cutscenes rewritten for continuity.
Altered a scene for foreshadowing.
Altered the "Cutscene" border.
Added a new character...say hello to Seven!
Reworked NEARLY EVERY LOCATION! The flower clearing, nearly all of Woodbury, many new locations in Otnemarcas, Carrasco, reworked the Gateway, Niji's Realm, Deep Lab, expanded the Otnemarcas dungeon, even areas not yet accessible...hooboy!
Shops now have a dinging bell upon entering.
Altered several accessory stats.
Renamed some items.
Added new key items.
Altered stats.
Altered Dev Key.
Added new character-specific starter accessories.
Updated Blake's HUD graphic.
Added new enemies.
Added new states.
Updated Flint's attributes.
Added new sprites for NPCs.
Updated the Pumpkin Spice enemy graphics and skills.
New music.
New sound effects.
Tweaked the Otnemarcas dialogue box.

Updated multiple battlebacks.
Updated glitch graphics.
Updated Warren's sprite.

Updated the Chicken Move Routes. Yepp. The update you've all been waiting for.

Removed unused scripts.
Quests have been tweaked.
New Common Events.
Updated older Common Events.
Added new switches and variables.
Added several "CHARACTER_PAWN" spawn points for cutscenes throughout the game.
Added colors to certain system messages.

Tweaked enemy stats upon leveling with the party.

Added a new menu for the Carrasco Tournament House. (Not yet accessible properly)
Added a new tutorial card for the quest app.
Added new choice menus.
Updated choice cursor.
Added a winter-themed textbox.
New Save/Load screens.
Added character faces to the Battle HUD.
Altered the design of Battle HUD elements and graphics.
Added new Gabs.
Updated gallery menu.
Updated Music Room menu.
Custom names in the quest menu.
Quest menu can now be sorted by location!
For menus not rebuilt, touched up nearly all other menus! Main, Status, Item, Equip, Party, Settings, Cooking, and Trophies.
Tweaked gameover screen.

Added new choice menu graphics for the Cheat Shop.
Added a GBC-styled minigame.

BUG FIXES:
Fixed an insane amount of glitches, bugs, and some crash issues!
Fixed text layouts for database entries.
Fixed test issues in battle.
Fixed multiple choice menus not having the correct backgrounds.
Fixed audio bugs with menu selections.
Fixed an issue where entering Niji's Realm would result in a softlock.
Fixed several name issues.
Fixed old Gateway text.
Fixed choices in the Peaceful Area.
Removed a dev option.
Fixed textbox issue in Wheeze Shop.
Fixed infamous crash when entering the Woodbury Forest while trying to call a redacted script.
Fixed multiple room transfer bugs.
Fixed an issue where the game would crash if a centered image was placed.
Fixed position of some enemies.
Fixed temporary bug where a tutorial card was showing up in the right-hand corner of the screen.
Fixed an issue where the elevator in the Underground doesn't go to the right spot.
Fixed an issue with impassibility issues.
Fixed an issue where certain chests didn't give the right item.
Fixed off-put transfers/teleports.
Fixed an issue where the car on J Street started driving onto sidewalks after a while.
Fixed a tree-jump bug.
Fixed an issue where the choice graphic sometimes wouldn't disappear after selecting something.
Fixed a BIG issue where State:Sleep would lower the target's MaxHP/MaxMP to 5%, rather than regen HP/MP +5% per turn.
Fixed an issue where the Gale Bangle wasn't equipable.
Fixed an issue where an NPC gives the player the wrong item despite the dialogue previous.
...Honestly so many more fixes.

Each updated detail is typed into Trello in REAL-TIME! Did I fix an issue? It's going up the second I did so. Everything is sorted by month, so take a look for yourself!


Lastly, on said Trello page, there's a "1.9.6 Path" block. That block is being updated while the game is being replayed so I can find in real-time everything that needs to be worked on for the 1.9.6 fix coming out in the next two weeks.

Anyways, its 6:30 in the morning and I'm EXHAUSTED, I'll come around this page once I'm more conscious to go over everything in a little bit more organized way. Toodles!


EDIT: On Gamejolt's side of things, I have a post mentioning ALL the different changes coming to 1.9.6 in real time. Please refer to this page before reporting any bugs/glitches/needs of fixing, as I'm playing through the demo and fixing things as I go along. As far as the progress goes so far, I've played through Woodbury, most of the Forest, the Gateway, and just entered Carrasco.
